WOMEN - Emotional and evocative, Giorgio Armani interprets the collection through the narration of a story. A tale which explores the renewed passion for all things precious and refined.
A vibrant palette of colours: dark browns fading into grey and black, shades of violet progressing to amethyst, flashes of red enamel. Spontaneous movement of taffeta and crackly fabric skirts that emerge from fitted jackets. Shoulders are straight, saddle or constructed with a nuanced upward lift.
A sprinkling of trousers, always in the lightest materials for a more flowing line. A calculated play on proportions achieves unexpected contrasts. A striking jacket and hat are paired with light, tapered shoes or, alternatively, heavier shoes are the counter point to slighter head and shoulders.
For evening, silhouettes fan out elegantly, with delicate gauze shirts under jackets, embellished with small ribbons, ruches and cuffs that escape from sleeves like wings. Also light and resplendent dresses, with a dusting of star cut crystals. Necklines are pronounced and well defined.
MEN – Electric, The mood is contemporary. Music evolves into colour. Colour is transformed into shape. In shades of burgundy, high voltage blue, deep green: flocked, patterned and printed for a textured surface that withholds any trace of sheen.
Rock icons, mythical figures. Fitted jackets emphasise shoulders and hips with leather details and piping on slim sleek lapels. Tight fitting trousers with leather waistbands. Shirts in silk, velvet and devoré with abstract graphics, waves and spirals.
New Tailoring, chalk stripe jackets contrast with patterned shirts and rounded collars. An impeccable suit reveals a waistcoat and slim velvet tie. Shoes in faux croc or lizard-print. Blousons with electric blue metallic spray effects, in leather with a wet suit look. Stripes are this season's signature, providing a constant theme especially highlighted in knitwear. Provocative trenches and short overcoats in classic style. In this way, electric and new tailoring combine. |
